Description
Silvaner embodies Franconia like no other grape variety, as does the world-famous Escherndorfer Lump vineyard.
The vines grow in almost pure limestone soils which gives the wine its unmistakable minerality and spiciness.
For this Silvaner, we are using a short maceration period to get the very best out of the grapes. After that, the wine is aged on the lees in a stainless steel tank until bottling.
Ageing on the lees gives the wine a better structure, increases its longevity and enhances it with nuanced complexity provided by reductive notes.
The aroma has a touch of hay and herbs with a light hint of apple, while on the palate, it develops with herb spiciness and a delicate acidity structure.
